Recently, I've been wanting to do something a little different when I can. For years now, I've been doing standard beauty shots, and just doing what I can to make people look their best. It's what I will always love to do, but at the same time, I feel it had put me in a bit of a rut. When it comes to stuff like that, there's only so much editing that you can do. I am not one to use the liquify tool to thin out a waistline, or do anything excessive to a persons photo. I find that I had stopped trying to learn new tricks in photoshop and just relying on the skills that I had already developed. While those skills are definitely enough to get me by, they're not enough to advance me towards my goals.
I finally got to get together again with Xiphoidia Costuming and Design in her Diablo 3 Wizard cosplay. We had talked about shooting this long ago but life got busy for both of us, and we always had to put it off. I've only edited one image from the shoot, but people seem to really be liking it. When we were in studio, I knew roughly what I wanted the final image to look like, and I think it turned out pretty good. It had been a while since I had posted a before and after of one of my images, so I figured I would put that below. Many don't realize the amount of effort that goes in after a shoot, and I think this is a great example of that, because the after image looks drastically different than the before. Was nice to get to play around a bit in photoshop. More pics of both of these amazing people will be posted in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes on Tooma for all the latest updates.
